SMD Member Newsletter - May, 2011

To all SMD Members:

Ya' know, it's funny. No matter how much I try to do my thing, haters are gonna' be haters. This used to make my blood boil (and it still does at times) but for the most part I'm over it - hence my April fools' joke that got a bunch of folks talkin!

Don't worry, we ain't gonna' let 'em slow us down one bit! While they're talkin' smack, the SMD web community is growing at a record pace. It just goes to show you, that even their negative press is helping the cause. So let 'em talk . . .

For example, I just had a third video go viral - Sound System Bass Shred's Phone Book! . . . 580,000 views in a month, that ain't bad. The video was also featured on Los Angeles news channel KTLA - CLICK HERE to see the spot if you missed it. How cool is that?

I have a favor to ask of each of you. The SMD You Tube channel is headin' towards 100 Million views! Over the last 6 months, it has averaged over 3.3 Million views each month. At that rate, it should eclipse the 100 Million mark in September. I'd like to get there quicker, so here's what I'm asking. Pick your favorite video from my channel and Email the link to all your friends. With your help, maybe I can hit this mark sooner! Here are three classics:

System of the Month (SOTM) - March

System of the Month (SOTM) - April

For April, we've changed it up a bit. For those of you that are building your systems one paycheck at a time need to understand that you too can win SOTM. We partnered up with Mechman to give the winner of this months' SOTM one of their killer high output alternators to improve the performance of their system.

45 SMD Members are in the running for this killer prize - thanks Matt! Regardless of who wins this one, the winner will get a tool that will greatly help their cause. This one just came to a close so we'll have more on this in the next newsletter.

David recently updated the SOTM Winners tab at the top of the SMD Home page. So, if you've won SOTM in the past, you will find a picture of your ride there. Click on the picture and it takes you to the complete build thread. Heck, you can even see Chode69s build when he won SOTM way back in September of 2007. Now he runs the deal - LOL . . .

I'll say it again - you can't win if you don't enter. We already have SMD Partners lined up to sponsor SOTM for most of the remaining months of 2011. Every SMD Member has a fair chance. No whinin', groanin' or bitchin' allowed - nothing upsets me more than a poor loser so don't be that guy. If you don't win, there's always next month!
